{"id":13300,"date":"2021-10-15T15:09:12","date_gmt":"2021-10-15T15:09:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test.nahtnow.com\/?p=13300"},"modified":"2021-10-15T15:09:12","modified_gmt":"2021-10-15T15:09:12","slug":"black-adoptions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.nahtnow.com\/en\/black-adoptions\/","title":{"rendered":"BLACK ADOPTIONS"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 id=\":1w0\" class=\"hP\" tabindex=\"-1\" data-thread-perm-id=\"thread-f:1712801374785401544|msg-f:1712801374785401544\" data-legacy-thread-id=\"17c517c68ae272c8\">BLACK ADOPTIONS<\/h2>\n<p>Two sets of twin siblings have found their everlasting homes after being adopted on the same day by a Cincinnati, Ohio, Black couple.<\/p>\n<p>Karen and Tobias Thompson of Hamilton County consented to foster Wilmya and William, Karen\u2019s now-14-year-old niece and nephew, about five years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Tobias pushed his wife to bring the children\u2019s younger twin half-sisters, now 9-year-old Sharnia and Sharleathea, on board as well after learning that they were in the child welfare system.<\/p>\n<p>Thompson\u2019s union had been together for nearly a year when the decision was made. The two met in high school but drifted apart, eventually raising their respective families on their own. Years after their previous marriages ended, the couple reconnected and married again in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>They had seven grown children, 28 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren between them, but when they heard about Wilmya and William\u2019s vague problems at home, they jumped in to help.<\/p>\n<p>Sharnia and Sharleathea were reportedly relocated from foster home to foster family on a regular basis. As a result, Tobias invited them to come over as well. The youngsters \u201cdidn\u2019t want to go home, back to the other foster home,\u201d the man told the publication.<\/p>\n<p>According to Fox 26 Houston, the Thompsons made their family\u2019s enlargement official on Thursday, Sept. 9 when they formally adopted all four children. Karen told reporters, \u201cThey\u2019re family, so we might as well keep them together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You can see the difference,\u201d Karen observed, despite the fact that they had a rough time at first. \u201cThey\u2019ve been through a lot,\u201d she continued. \u201cThis is the light at the end of the tunnel,\u201d says the narrator.<\/p>\n<p>Tobias, who the kids call to as \u201cpapa,\u201d claimed there was \u201cno point splittin\u2019 em up\u201d in a statement following the adoption. \u201cBring them all together.\u201d \u201cShow \u2018em a lot of love,\u201d he concluded. That is all they require Love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to WCPO 9 news, Judge Ralph Winkler, who presided over the Thompsons\u2019 case, praised the two, calling them \u201ca terrific model of what parents should be.\u201d During the court proceedings, Amber Sawyer, the Thompsons\u2019 Hamilton County Job &amp; Family Services adoption caseworker, spoke on their behalf.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the things that stood out to me was how important family is to them,\u201d Sawyer explained. \u201cIn their home, you can simply feel the love and the bond.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BLACK ADOPTIONS Two sets of twin siblings have found their everlasting homes after being adopted on the same day by a Cincinnati, Ohio, Black couple.
