Breaking The Chains to Create A Path: The story \u201cFreedom From Bondage\u201d made me think back to my childhood and about the years that went by as my addiction progressed.<\/p>\n
I was always the baby of the family and when my parents divorced, I felt angry and hurt.\u00a0 I got the \u201cI don\u2019t care\u201d attitude about life in general. No one else cared, so why should I. I think my addiction started then.<\/p>\n
I would drink and smoke pot with friends, and always felt better after using.\u00a0 I guess I was so high that I didn\u2019t feel the hurt. I know now, rather I am learning now, that I can\u2019t keep building walls around the problems that life brings. I have got to face them head on and if I continue to have drugs and alcohol in my life I will only be existing instead of living the life that I want to live; to do that I have to be honest with myself, happy with myself, and continue working the recovery program.<\/p>\n
At the time of this writing, I was only in the program for a little under 60 days and I can honestly say that already it has help me to deal with a lot of issues that I had locked away so tightly. I thought I will never have to deal with them but I don\u2019t have the drugs to help now because of me being in the program. Therefore, I have to deal with them without drugs assisting me in locking them away and not having to face these awful feelings any longer.<\/p>\n
\u201cFreedom From Bondage\u201d, that\u2019s what its all about.\u00a0 Freeing yourself from the bondage of many years of hurt and pain, instead of only building walls that sooner or later have to come down anyway.<\/p>\n
In Breaking The Chains, I am reminded of the paths I have taken through excerpts from old ancient library book called Path:<\/p>\n

The Way Out Is The Way Back<\/p>\n
One Way Back<\/p>\n

Only Those Who Have Learned<\/p>\n

Will Choose The Spiritual Path<\/p>\n
Many Paths There Are<\/p>\n
All Spiritual Paths Lead To The One.<\/p>\n
As Closer You Return,<\/p>\n
Recognize You Will<\/p>\n
Your True Self<\/p>\n
Your True Family<\/p>\n
Recognize You Will<\/p>\n
The Face Of A Stranger<\/p>\n
Judge Not The Path Of Another<\/p>\n
Learn To Understand<\/p>\n
That You May Not Understand<\/p>\n
The Path Of Another<\/p>\n
Judge The Path Of Another<\/p>\n
Only To Judge And Determine<\/p>\n
Your Own Path<\/p>\n
Never Condemn Another<\/p>\n
Condemn Only Action<\/p>\n
The Path Takes Us Through<\/p>\n
Walls Of Fire Burning Us Away<\/p>\n
Sharp Teeth Ripping Way Our Flesh<\/p>\n
Why Then, Am I Not Harmed?<\/p>\n
The Path Is Beset With Traps<\/p>\n
The Wind Flowers Draw Us<\/p>\n
With Their Sweet Perfume<\/p>\n
Thorn Prick At Our Feet<\/p>\n
Mud Drags Us Down<\/p>\n
Above And Below<\/p>\n
Rocks Loosen And Fall.<\/p>\n
Walk In The Footsteps Of Those<\/p>\n
Who Have Found The Way Before You.<\/p>\n
The Ease Or Difficulty One Experiences<\/p>\n
While Waking The Path To Oneness<\/p>\n
Is Directly Determined By The Degree<\/p>\n
Of Their Humility And Unselfish Love<\/p>\n
Pain And Pleasure<\/p>\n
Are Swings In The Arc Of A Pendulum<\/p>\n
To The Degree The Pendulum<\/p>\n
Swings Into Pleasure<\/p>\n
It Will Swing Into The Same Degree Of Pain<\/p>\n
Many Paths Preserve Themselves<\/p>\n
That Lead To Pleasure With Free Will We Choose<\/p>\n
Choose Not Pleasure And You Will Create Not Pain<\/p>\n
Choose Not Pleasure And Pain Will Chase You Not<\/p>\n
Accept The Little Pleasure That Come To You<\/p>\n
Endure The Pain That May Come To You With<\/p>\n
With Loving-Suffering Patience.<\/p>\n
Hear Me Of Man<\/p>\n
Turn From The Darkness Of Night<\/p>\n
Turn Towards The Love Of Light<\/p>\n
