{"id":1552,"date":"2021-02-19T17:00:21","date_gmt":"2021-02-19T17:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test.nahtnow.com\/?p=1552"},"modified":"2021-02-19T22:07:17","modified_gmt":"2021-02-19T22:07:17","slug":"keeping-it-natural","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.nahtnow.com\/en\/keeping-it-natural\/","title":{"rendered":"KEEPING IT NATURAL: Do not Fly to Close to the Sun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Keeping it Natural: The saying \u201cdon&#8217;t fly too close to the sun\u201d is a reference to the Greek mythology of Icarus\u2019 and his rebellion to his father&#8217;s lecture, regarding the matter of flying too high with waxed wings.\u00a0 This is a message to all of us, regardless of age.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Icarus Plunges into the Sea and Drown<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The story goes; Icarus and his father, Daedalus, were imprisoned on an island by King Minos. To gain freedom, Daedalus, constructed two sets of wings, formed of wax and feathers. He advised his son not to fly too close to the sun, as the wax would melt. He also warned\u00a0Icarus not to fly too low, as the feathers could get soaked in the sea water. Daedalus\u2019 warning, however, went unnoticed. \u00a0Icarus was so inebriated by the triumph of flight that he disregarded his father\u2019s advice.\u00a0 He took off as a bird and flew high into the sky, close the sun. As the wax on his wings melted, he plunged into the sea, and drowned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Obedience is Better Than Sacrifice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Oftentimes, some of us feel that we are smarter than our parents.\u00a0 We think; I have a college degree; I make more money than they ever could\u2026why should I listen to these antiquated ideas? \u00a0Then we end up in a world of mayhem, because of our failure to listen.\u00a0 Proverbs 30:17 confirms, \u201cThe eye that mocks his father and scorns obedience to his mother, The ravens of the valley will pick it out, And young eagles will eat it\u201d. \u00a0This is saying, to ignore the knowledge and experience of your parents can and often do bring about destructions and death, be it spiritual or natural. This, our elders have taught you, from infant to this day.\u00a0 Yet some of us do not listen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>They Have Already Been Where You Think You Can Go.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your elders have been where you are going.\u00a0 It is important to listen to them.\u00a0 They have seen others wings melt, due to disobedience; or maybe, they, themselves, have been scorched by the sun. due to the defiance of their parents\u2019 voice.
