An Ohio State University (OSU) student leader is facing\u00a0<\/a>criticism after saying that he\u2019d \u201clove\u201d to live in a world if \u201cBlack people were taught that they are superior.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to OSU\u2019s student newspaper,\u00a0The Lantern<\/a>, On March 23, John Fuller, a junior, who was a member of the Ohio State University Undergraduate Student Government General Assembly at the time of the meeting, made comments while\u00a0proposing<\/a>\u00a0resolutions targeting all anti-critical race theory legislation to the General Assembly.<\/p>\n

1. \u201cBy taking away the teaching of one race as superior to another, that is inherently white supremacy because white people learn from birth that they are superior. There is nothing that they need to be taught in school that tells them that,\u201d Fuller said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI just wanted to say that and make this very clear, the only people who are taught that they are superior to another race are White people,\u201d Fuller said. \u201cAnd I would absolutely love to live in a world where Black people were taught that they are superior.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that he \u201cfull-heartedly\u201d believes that Black people are superior.<\/p>\n

OSU\u2019s Undergraduate Student Government President, Jacob Chang, told the student newspaper The Lantern that Fuller\u2019s comments were \u201cdiverging from our values.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

2. \u201cThe comments made during the General Assembly session is fundamentally, like, diverging from our values as the student government of Ohio State,\u201d Chang said. \u201cTherefore, it is our responsibility to report a case like this. I think we need to stand in solidarity with all people of color and anyone who suffers from racism, but we need to do it from a space that is unilaterally empowering everyone around them instead of like single out one group.\u201d<\/h3>\n

Chang told the student newspaper that assembly senators have considered impeaching Fuller but said that Fuller\u2019s last day in his position was Apr 6.<\/p>\n

Members of the student government who were uncomfortable with Fuller\u2019s comments reported the comments to the Office of Institutional Equity.<\/p>\n

Although Fuller\u2019s resolution against anti-critical race theory legislation passed, Chang said that Fuller\u2019s theories were \u201canother form of like supremacy,\u201d adding that Fuller\u2019s comments were \u201cinherently racist.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo matter what race you are from, what background you are from, you cannot say stuff like that,\u201d Chang said.<\/p>\n
