Lupita Nyong’o began acting in the United States in the early 2000s before returning to Kenya, the country where she was raised, to act in the show Shuga. Since, she has been featured in 12 Years A Slave, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, as well as the wildly successful Marvel film, Black Panther, and the horror movie, Us. Viola Davis is the only Black actress to achieve the Triple Crown of Acting, having won an Academy Award, an Emmy Award, and two Tony Awards.
